NOVA DELAY:BULLETPROOF!

06 Aug 2007 - 13:34, by sander So all of you guitarfanatics want to know what it is like to play with the Nova Delay , made by TC-Electronics?
Read on !

As you may already know, I was chosen to get to try out this lovely unit. We were off to Finland to do a show at the Rock-Off Festival, and we got on the airplane at Schiphol to fly to Stockholm. Of course it was not possible to carry my complete guitarrig with me so I only took a guitar and a fine selection of pedals. The pedals were in a sturdy flightcase, I dropped them off at the "special luggage-section". Apparently this means they only throw with your gear when no one is looking, because when we arrived in Finland and I opened my case, all my pedals, which were fixed to the board with tiewraps, were all over the place!!! This is the point where you get nervous: will everything still work??

O yes, baby!! I was only playing for half a minute, checking out the sound on stage, when the guitarist of the band who played before us hurried over to me and started drivelling over my Nova Delaypedal. I had to kill him of course.....haha.

Ok , and then it was showtime!!! The sounds I was able to create with merely a compressor, some overdrivepedals and this lovely Nova Delay pedal were amazing. With the modulation on the delayed signal the sound got really "big", the tapping function worked great, and even though there was a enormous chunk of stagelight, the display was always easy to read! Take it from me. if you want a versatile, high-end sounding, practical and compact delaypedal, this is it! This one is a keeper!!!!

Many thanks to TC Electronics for making it possible to give this baby a try!
